Celebrant Services
Apart from business communication training, I also conduct humanist funeral ceremonies as a celebrant.
A few years ago, I trained with Humanists UK (formerly BHA) to become a funeral celebrant. My aim is to help bereaved families mark the death of a loved one, by celebrating their life.
My first experience of using the humanist approach came a while ago with the death of my parents. It was a great comfort to me and family and friends – then and now – to look back and celebrate their lives through words and music.
A humanist funeral uses a combination of music, readings, tributes and stories about the individual. The actual content of the ceremony is always devised in close cooperation with family members. How much involvement you want, though, is very much up to you. These are things we can discuss when we talk on the phone or face to face.
Sometimes I am commissioned directly, but another way is via Funeral Directors in the area. I conduct ceremonies at crematoriums, but also woodland burial sites as you can see in the picture.
I cover South and Central Buckinghamshire and surrounding counties such as Oxfordshire and Hertfordshire, and West London (for example the A40 corridor). Families live in and around Amersham, Slough, Beaconsfield, Marlow, Henley, Maidenhead, Aylesbury, Denham and Watford.
Feel free to drop me an email initially.
Testimonials
I just wanted to say a huge thank you for the wonderful ceremony on Saturday. You pulled it all together beautifully and made his send-off such a positive experience. What else can l say other than it was an absolute pleasure dealing with you over the phone and finally meeting you on the day.
Chris guided us with enormous sensitivity and respect before and during the service. On the day itself his stewardship and calm authority were a great comfort not just to the family but also to the other mourners, many of whom commented on Chris’s choice of words and intuitive understanding of our late mother’s character. We were certainly fortunate to have him as Celebrant.
